AOL USERS
If the images have lines though them, or look "unsharp", then you probably have your browser
set to look at compressed images. You will find that although there is virtually no difference in
speed on any but the oldest computers (the pre-pentium and pre-power pc generations), the
difference in how much better images from many web sites will look is astounding when you
reset your preferences.
Please follow the instructions below for your browser to reset the graphics to look the
way they were meant to be viewed.
Listed below are instructions for:
Windows AOL
Mac AOL
WINDOWS AOL USERS
1-From the MY AOL menu at the top of the screen select, and open, PREFERENCES
2-Select the WWW icon
3-There will be four tabs at the top of the window, choose the WEB GRAPHICS tab
4-Locate the box (which is probably checked) that says “Use Compressed Graphics”
5-Un-check that box (there should not be an “X” in it), and click OK when you are done
6-You should now re-load the web page by clicking the circular refresh icon in your
browser, or by pressing the F5 key. In occasional cases you may need to leave AOL and restart your computer.

MAC AOL USERS
1-From the MY AOL menu at the top of the screen select, and open, PREFERENCES
2-Select the WWW icon from the left part of the window
3-Locate the box (which is probably checked) that says “Use Compressed Graphics" (it is
about a third of the way down in the middle of the window)
4-Un-check that box (there should not be an “X” in it), and click OK when you are done
5-You should now re-load the web page by clicking the circular refresh icon in your browser.
In occasional cases you may need to leave AOL and restart your computer.
